Red Feather Donors

RFTJuly13-14On behalf of the Board of Directors, management and staff at United Way, we would like to thank our 475 Red Feather donors for contributing 25 years or longer to our cause. You represent the foundation of our community, uniting for change to build a strong and caring community.

The first Red Feather tea was held at Government House on July 21, 2009. A tea has since been held every summer to mark the generous spirit of these individuals. This year, the event was hosted by the Honourable Judith Guichon, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.

The red feather was adopted in 1949 as a national symbol of united fundraising and community building. At that time, dedicated donors often wore a red feather during the annual fundraising campaign to show their commitment toward united humanitarian giving.
