Berwick’s Founder, Gordon Denford, Wins BCSLA Pioneer Award

Last week, a few of our Berwick team members attended the 2019 BCSLA Conference in Whistler to learn about innovation in healthy aging. Our founder, Gordon, was also in attendance for a very exciting reason. At the President’s Dinner on Monday evening, BCSLA President, Mark Dobson, presented Gordon with the inaugural BCSLA Pioneer Award in recognition of his contribution and positive impact to the industry. It is an incredibly well deserved honor, and we were privileged to have had the opportunity to support and cheer Gordon on during this exciting moment. Over the past 30 years, Gordon’s commitment to quality, innovation and community has never wavered. Every Berwick community built has incorporated latest innovations in health and wellness, considered the lessons learned from previous sites and all the while always striving for the highest quality of amenities and services. There are always ongoing renovations at the existing residences to ensure they continue to fully meet the expectations of current and future generations of seniors.  Each Berwick is designed with the local culture and community in mind, and it is imperative to Gordon that the sites operate with local insight and a community mindset.

It is also worth mentioning that Berwick Royal Oak and Berwick Comox Valley were recognized for achieving a significant milestone. They were awarded with plaques celebrating their 10th Anniversary of receiving their BCSLA Seals of Approval. All in all, a wonderful night for Berwick
