As a part of Berwick’s commitment to reduce, reuse and recycle, Berwick Comox Valley is providing a local pig farm (Garson Farms) with 32+ litres of food waste each day to feed their pigs. We will soon be planning a farm visit with our residents to meet the pigs.

The Hike for Hospice will be taking place at Maffeo Sutton Park in Nanaimo, BC. You can register at 10am with the Hike starting at 11am and a picnic at Noon! Participants are invited to walk, run or stroll along the beautiful waterfront rain or shine. Gather pledges with all funds raised going to the Nanaimo Community Hospice. In 2012, $30,000 was raised to support local Hospice programs.

On Saturday May 4th, the Campbell River Hospice Society will be hosting its 12th Annual Angel Rock Benefit and Dance at the Campbell River sportsplex. All monies raised during Angel Rock are used towards providing counseling services, workshops and support groups to all members of our community and surrounding area, free of charge. The Angel Rock benefit and dance will include catering by Royal Coachman Inn, Casino games, Live & Silent auctions – and dancing the night away until 1am!
